Sharing is Caring

Dear Diary,
It has been 8 days since my last entry...

It's been a busy week and I haven't done much more than printing, clipping and filing my plethora of coupons.  It is still a big job to do and takes me about 2 hours to clip, sort and file them but it's so worth it.  My binder is filling up fast and I already had to go get another package of the 9 slot pages to fill in and be able add more coupons to my collection.
On Sunday,  I finally got to hang with my girl,  Amy so we could discuss coupons.  We had a great time and I was able to help her get her binder started.  She was so excited!  First, we went to Walmart and got her the basic needs of an extreme couponer - zipper binder, tabbed file dividers, long scissors  and 9 slot pages.  Then we got her a couple of Sunday papers and I explained all about how she needed to check to make sure that both the Smart Source and Red Plum inserts were included.  She is so pumped to start saving and her husband, Chris, is just as excited as she is.  He fully supports and encourages her in this new endeavor and is her number one cheerleader.  I helped her to set up her binder and as she clipped, I filed.  I love how blissful she was when she came across a coupon she knew she could use right away.  While we communed, I explained the basic principals behind couponing such as how to stack coupons,  waiting on sales to maximize savings ,  the need to have more than just one of the same coupon and rolling rewards.  We decided that from now on, Sundays would be our day for clipping together so we could visit and swap coupons. "Sharing is caring!"   I can't wait for next Sunday so we can get together and do it all over again.
Let me tell you,  couponers LOVE freebies and last night I spent an hour refreshing one page on Facebook waiting for the link to pop up on the Scrubbing Bubbles wall announcing my eligibility to possibly receive a free full sized product.  It was for an item not yet available in stores so I was hopeful to be able to try something new.  My clicking finger needed to be ready... there were SOOOOO MANY others waiting as impatiently as I and there were only 500 available so I needed to be quick.  While we were all waiting,  we had some fun on their wall.  I  tried to distract some of the other posters.. "<waves her hand, using Jedi Mind trick> There are no free samples here... Move Along...." and posted an old Scrubbing Bubbles commercial I found on YouTube.  Even tho I had waited over an hour for the post with the link to the freebie,  my clicking finger just wasn't fast enough.  It took forever for the link to load because of the sheer volume of people who were also clicking so I missed out this time. Such disappointment.  I guess I just have to click faster next time.
On the agenda for today is checking the online sources for more printables and waiting on the mailman to see if I got any of the samples I have signed up for.  I hope that once all these items start rolling in,  he doesn't begin to hate me for his mail bag being so heavy.  I'm looking forward to some full size items, so he better have the back muscles to haul them around.  I fully expect him to start parking his little mail truck closer to my house so he doesn't have to walk so far with all my freebies.
